I’ll be deleting this group. It was meant to support those struggling after losing their SNAP benefits, but the engagement just isn’t here. It’s discouraging to speak into the void while others continue to go hungry.

This is diabolical and cruel!

For those who don't understand why this is tragic, let me explain. If you are a SNAP recipient, that means you can't afford groceries. You use your SNAP benefits to pay for groceries. If your SNAP benefits are held back this month, some stores were offering discounts for SNAP people who would be using cash for food, instead of using that cash for household bills or medical needs. This offering was only going to be in effect while SNAP benefits are withheld due to the shutdown.

Please, help me help others! Liking my posts is great and all but does nothing to help hungry people

Comment, share!!

I want to encourage everyone following this page to choose a Food Buddy (or two!) to support with meals during the holiday season.

I’m currently helping two families myself.

One is a neighbor who’s disabled. His daughter works hard at a fast-food restaurant, and together they do their best to make ends meet—but with the loss of their SNAP benefits, food insecurity has become a real threat to their health.

The other is a massage client I treat pro bono. He was injured last year when the City of Tucson bus he was riding was involved in a crash on the I-10. He first reached out to my massage school looking for a student clinic, but since ASIS Massage Education closed last July, those no longer exist. Knowing he relies on SNAP due to his injury and inability to work, I asked if he’d be open to receiving a little help. He’s a humble man, but he accepted.

These are just two examples of good people doing their best to get by—people whose lives are directly impacted by the loss of food assistance.

If you don’t personally know anyone who could use support, let me know. I can connect you with a Food Buddy. You can even give anonymously if you’d prefer.

Through community, we can help one another navigate this challenging time with dignity and compassion.

Thank you for being here.
You are truly appreciated. 💛

🛒 Introducing “Grocery Buddies” — Our Community Aid Network

When times get tough, community matters most. 💛

Grocery Buddies is a grassroots effort to help neighbors who may lose or have lost their SNAP (food stamp) benefits due to government delays or disruptions.

Here’s how it works:
🌻 Volunteers offer to pick up groceries, donate food, or provide gift cards.
📬 Those in need can message privately to arrange help — no questions, no judgment, just kindness.

It’s simple: if you can help, post and share. If you need help, reach out.
Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes hungry. ✨
