The Sketchbook Artistry Guild is a growing artist community designed to encourage members to develop their creativity and learning through the arts, exchange ideas, share information, demonstrate techniques and materials and support each other in our artistic endeavors. Our group currently includes emerging artists to professional artists including severa
l illustrators, digital artists, photographers, studio artists working in a variety media and those that do a bit of everything in between. Our main focus is on drawing and creating illustrated journals/sketchbooks in order to explore and develop our perceptual and kinesthetic abilities, the very nature of observation. The artists of this guild use the sketchbook as a tool to collect ideas and to form them into more complete artistic expressions, many as finished master-level pieces of art. The Guild is not limited to only sketchbook artistry, but is constantly expanding to meet the needs of our members and unite artists through the encouragement of artistic growth and development. We offer sponsorship of gallery exhibits, artist lecture series, museum, gallery, studio tours, workshops including frequent still life series, and en plein air paint-outs, as well as critiques and demonstrations of artist tools and techniques.
