Common Causes of PTSD in Veterans
PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing traumatic events during military service. While every veteran's story is unique, some of the most common causes include:
▪️ Combat exposure
▪️ Military sexual trauma
▪️ Serious accidents or injuries
▪️ Loss of fellow service members
▪️ Long deployments and separation from loved ones
The effects of trauma don't always end when service ends. Many veterans continue to face challenges long after returning home.
This PTSD Awareness Month, let's honor their experiences by listening, learning, and supporting those who have served.
💚 Awareness reduces stigma.
💚 Support saves lives.
💚 No veteran should face PTSD alone.
