"Refugees are our neighbors. Together, we can help make Arizona a place of safety, dignity, and belonging."

Today is World Refugee Day, a time to honor the courage, resilience, and strength of people who have been forced to flee their homes.

At LSS-SW, we walk alongside refugees already rebuilding their lives in Arizona. Our team supports individuals and families through case management, employment support, English classes, school support, youth mentorship, women’s empowerment, emergency assistance, and community connections.

This work is possible because of people who choose welcome. Volunteers, churches, co-sponsor teams, donors, and community partners help refugees build stability, connection, and a sense of belonging.

This World Refugee Day, you can stand with refugees too. Make a gift, volunteer, become a mentor, join a co-sponsor team, or share this message of welcome.

Refugees are our neighbors. Together, we can help make Arizona a place of safety, dignity, and belonging. Visit www.lss-sw.org to learn more.

Continuing the battle against injustice and inequality can sometimes feel Sisyphean, but Juneteenth is proof that the fight is worth it. We have to keep resisting and confronting the oppression of our fellow humans.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth—a remembrance of those who suffered, an acknowledgment of those who still struggle, and a reminder that every step toward greater compassion, inclusion, equality, and understanding is part of our planet’s Great Awakening. ❤️
