A round of applause for our incredible golf tournament sponsors like, Jayne Henninger!

Our tournament is more than a day on the course—it’s an opportunity to come together and support children and families in our community.

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, the Children's Advocacy Center can continue providing a safe place where children are heard, believed, and supported through their healing journey.

Whether your child is starting kindergarten, moving to a new school, or returning to a familiar classroom, change can bring a mix of excitement and uncertainty.

You can help your child feel more confident by:
💙 Establishing consistent routines.
💙 Creating space for open, honest conversations.
💙 Offering reassurance that it's okay to have big feelings.

Sometimes, the smallest moments—packing lunches together, reading a bedtime story, or asking, "What are you looking forward to tomorrow?"—can help children feel safe, supported, and ready for the day ahead.

At the Children's Advocacy Center, we know that children thrive when they feel heard, supported, and surrounded by caring adults.

Here's to a school year filled with growth, resilience, and confidence.

What is a forensic interview?

A forensic interview is a safe, child-friendly conversation where a specially trained interviewer gives a child the opportunity to talk about something they may have experienced or witnessed. Children can expect to meet one-on-one with the interviewer in a comfortable room, answer questions at their own pace, and ask for a break at any time. Our goal is to help every child feel heard, supported, and safe.

At the Children's Advocacy Center, the interview is carefully designed to:
✔️ Help children feel safe and heard.
✔️ Reduce the number of times they have to tell their story.
✔️ Provide accurate information that can help inform investigations.
✔️ Connect children and families with the support and resources they need to begin healing.

A forensic interview isn't an interrogation—it's a compassionate, trauma-informed conversation that puts the child's well-being first.

As we pause and reflect this Sunday, we're reminded that healing doesn't happen in a single moment—it happens through compassion, patience, and the support of a caring community.

Every child who walks through our doors deserves to feel safe, heard, and believed. Thanks to our advocates, partners, donors, volunteers, and community, children and families find hope during some of life's most difficult moments.

As you begin a new week, take a moment to reflect on the difference kindness can make. Together, we're creating a community where every child has the opportunity to heal.

Thank you for being part of that journey.

Today, we're feeling especially grateful for the incredible community that stands beside children on their journey toward healing.

To our donors, volunteers, partners, staff, board members, and every person who chooses to support our mission—thank you. Your compassion helps ensure that children who have experienced abuse or trauma are met with safety, hope, and the care they deserve.

Every gift, every hour volunteered, every shared post, and every act of kindness makes a difference. Because of you, children are heard, believed, and supported when they need it most.

Together, we're creating brighter futures—one child, one family, and one act of generosity at a time.

Wellness Wednesday

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause.

Take a deep breath. Step outside for a few minutes. Drink a glass of water. Reach out to someone you trust.

Small moments of self-care can help restore your energy and resilience. Remember—you can't pour from an empty cup.

How are you taking care of yourself today?

What does trauma-informed care look like?
-It looks like welcoming children into a space designed to help them feel safe.
-It looks like listening without judgment.
-It looks like reducing the number of times a child has to share their story.
-It looks like providing advocacy, forensic interviews, medical services, and connections to healing—all under one roof.

At the Children's Advocacy Center of Southern Arizona, every interaction is centered on helping children feel safe, supported, and believed.
