Just one more sleep until a concert weekend!

Our Sunday concert includes an extra special piece featuring Young Artist Competition winner Ben Teller performing Grieg's Piano Concerto No 1, Mvmt 1 with the orchestra.

Ben Teller is a pianist, composer, and musical theater director. While growing up in Tucson, Ben studied piano with Christine Harper and Dr. Ji-Young Kim. His classical accolades include First Place at COT’s Lee Oler Young Artists’ Competition in both 2023 and 2025, alternate in the MNTA Senior Piano Performance Competition in Wisconsin, and an invitation to the Progressive Musicians’ Laureate Gala at Carnegie Hall.

Ben studied jazz piano at Salpointe Catholic High School under Jim Howell, winning both the Louis Armstrong Excellence in Jazz Award and Northern Arizona University Festival of Jazz Outstanding Performer Award, twice. Ben is currently working on a double major in Piano Performance and Mathematics at Lawrence University in Wisconsin where he studies classical piano under Dr. Catherine Kautsky and Dr. Anthony Padilla, jazz piano under Bill Carrothers, and voice under jazz piano under Steven Spears.

Come Sunday, April 26th, 3pm, Catalina Foothills High School to hear Ben and the entire Civic Orchestra Perform!
