Tinker stations don’t have to be complicated to be effective.

With a small collection of materials and a space to explore, students begin to design, test, and problem-solve on their own.

Build. Test. Adjust.

This started as a simple idea: build a marble run.

But nothing about it stayed simple.

Pieces didn’t line up. Ramps collapsed. Supports had to be improvised.

So they adjusted.

They used what they had. They tested again. They made it work.

I could have stepped in and “fixed” it, but the real learning happens when they figure it out themselves.

That’s the difference between completing a task and understanding it.
