What an incredible day! We had over 80 vehicles registered for this year’s Cars for Cancer Show, and thanks to your amazing support, we’re able to provide over $3,000 in medical bill assistance to our 2025 beneficiary, Jamie Smith.

We are beyond grateful to every single person who came out — the car owners, spectators, sponsors, and our incredible volunteers who made it all possible. A huge thank-you to our business sponsors and individual sponsors for standing behind this cause this year!

🚗💥 Get ready — the Cars for Cancer Show is happening THIS Sunday, October 12th from 12–4 PM in Tryon, NC!

Come out for a day full of classic cars, community spirit, and a great cause! Every year, this event raises funds for a local individual affected by cancer, and this year’s beneficiary is Jamie Smith — a Polk County native, Tryon Elementary School staff member, proud mom of two daughters, and a loving grandmother. 💖

✨ 100% of the proceeds go directly to help cover Jamie’s medical bills due to her battle with cancer.

We are honored to announce that Jamie Smith has been chosen as the beneficiary for the 2025 Cars for Cancer Car Show.

Jamie is a Polk County native who works at Tryon Elementary School. She’s a proud mom of two daughters and a grandmother to one grandson. Earlier this year, a routine mammogram revealed ductal carcinoma in situ. With her mother’s own breast cancer journey in mind, Jamie made the proactive decision to undergo a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. She will have a follow-up surgery this December and continues forward with strength, gratitude, and hope.

This journey has been long and hard, but I’m thankful—for early detection, excellent care, and the love that’s surrounded me. 💕”

🏆 One-of-a-Kind Trophies at Cars for Cancer! 🏆

Every year, Cars for Cancer hands out 3 handmade trophies crafted locally by Kenneth Stott, owner of Larry Stotts Garage. Built from a mix of new and used automotive parts, these works of art are as unique as the vehicles that win them! 🛠️

Attendees vote for Best Car and Best Truck—equal in size and equally impressive. The Beneficiary’s Choice trophy is the biggest of them all, and is awarded to the vehicle personally selected by this year’s beneficiary.

We can’t wait to see this year’s designs—and find out which rides will take them home! 🚗🚙✨

Why I Started Cars for Cancer 💜🚘

In 2023, I started Cars for Cancer to help my dad. He had been diagnosed with stage 4 head and neck cancer, and while Medicare covered some things, it didn’t cover nearly enough. I couldn’t just sit back—so I decided to do something.

Our first show was small but powerful. About 40 cars came out to FENCE, and with the help of local businesses and friends, we raffled off prizes, gave out trophies, and raised money to help with my dad’s treatment. He beat cancer that first time around—and that show meant the world to both of us.

In 2024, we moved the show to Stott’s Ford for more space and visibility. That year, we chose to support a wonderful local woman. Sadly, she passed before the event, but her son—her caregiver—stood with us the entire time. That show was bigger in every way. More cars, more people, more heart. We nearly doubled the proceeds.

This May, I lost my dad.

He fought so hard, and I’m forever proud of him. We shared a deep love for cars, and now this event means even more—it’s in his honor. Cars for Cancer has become my way to remember him, and to help other families like ours who are navigating the brutal reality of cancer and the weight of medical expenses.

As we look to 2025, I carry his spirit with me in every detail. Every car that rolls in, every story shared, every dollar raised—it’s all for something bigger.

Thank you to everyone who’s shown up and supported this dream. Let’s keep doing good, one show at a time. 💜
