Saddle hunting keeps you MOBILE.

Instead of hunting the same tree over and over, you can:

• Follow fresh sign
• Find travel corridors
• Hunt pinch points
• Avoid becoming predictable

The more mobile you are, the harder it is for deer to pattern you.

And that forces you to actually learn how deer use the property.

For mobile hunters, saddle hunting has a big advantage:

You don’t have to know exactly where you’re setting up before you enter the woods.

You can:

• Follow fresh sign
• Backtrack deer movement
• Push toward bedding
• Set up where the activity actually is

And with a lightweight setup, you can carry everything you need without hauling a heavy stand through the woods.

Mobility changes the game.

Parker (our store intern) tagged a giant buck he called Deuce yesterday evening for the Alabama archery opener! Help us congratulate him!

We couldn’t have asked for better timing on this cold front that moved in. We played cat and mouse with him Thursday, gave him a break Friday and tagged him Saturday.

Sometimes the difference is knowing WHEN to make the move.

When the right conditions line up, I’ll call guys on our team and say:

“Can you hunt tomorrow?”

That approach has helped more than 10 hunters on our team harvest mature bucks.

The key?

Separate proven deer behavior from random theories.

Study the data. Understand the conditions. Then act when the opportunity is right.

The best deer hunters I know are ALWAYS learning.

They don’t assume one successful hunt proves a theory.

Look for advice built around:

• Deer biology
• Proven behavior
• Repeatable patterns
• More than one experience

Stay curious. Keep learning. Question your assumptions.

Finding the deer is only half the battle.

If you can’t get IN and OUT without getting busted, you’re educating them.

That means:

• Plan your entry
• Plan your exit
• Protect bedding areas
• Avoid blowing deer off food

A perfect stand location means nothing if the deer know you’re there.
