Today is the last day of our World Race for Hope Virtual 5k, and we want to thank everybody who participated. February 1st is also Freedom Day, honoring the day President Lincoln signed the resolution that would later become the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery (except as punishment for a crime). Today the US Senate passed a resolution designating January as National Trafficking and Modern Slavery Prevention Month. One of the goals of establishing national days or months is to raise awareness, which of course is our goal for the World Race for Hope. In this, our 16th year, we reached 100 registrations with participants in 13 states, raised over $700, and introduced a new event, the January 50 mile Challenge. We encourage you to continue to learn, tell others, and evaluate how you might use your passions and talents to fight for freedom for all.
