A big THANK YOU to all firefighters out there, paid and volunteer. You answer the call and risk your life, all to care for those in need on what they feel is their worst day. It takes special people to answer that call and to continue to answer the call no matter the day, the chief complaint or the reported issue. You’re there and for that, THANK YOU! If you see a firefighter around today, make sure to stop and tell them they are appreciated!

Many people may not realize that Brunswick Fire Company #1 is made up of volunteers who normally respond from home or work when a call comes in. During storms like this, road conditions can slow travel and make it harder for crews to get together quickly.

To help with that, our members are staffing the station from 2 PM Sunday through 6 AM Monday during this snowstorm. It allows us to be ready to respond right away if help is needed.

I want to thank our dedicated volunteers for stepping up and spending time away from their families to help keep the community safe.
