Trinidad Civic Club

Trinidad Civic Club The Trinidad Civic Club is dedicated to community support by enhancing the lives of others.

The Trinidad Civic Club has had a significant impact on the Trinidad community in over 100 years of service. From building the Town Hall, to erecting a concrete cross on Trinidad Head (where the original wooden cross was placed by Spanish explorers in 1775), to building the landmark Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse, the Civic Club women have endeavored to enhance their beloved community. The library,

the cemetery, the fire department, and many others have benefited from the fundraising efforts of the Club. There are two scholarship recipients honored each year and a team raises money for CASA. A number of other community groups and causes have also received donations. The focus of our fundraising now is to build a permanent home for the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse.

Our Story

The Trinidad Civic Club has had a significant impact on the Trinidad community in over 100 years of service. From helping with building the Town Hall, to erecting a concrete cross on Trinidad Head (where the original wooden cross was placed by Spanish explorers in 1775), to building the landmark Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse, the Civic Club women have endeavored to enhance their beloved community. The library, the cemetery, the fire department, and many others have benefited from the fundraising efforts of the Club. There are two or three scholarship recipients honored each year and a team raises money for CASA. A number of other community groups and causes have also received donations. The focus of our fundraising now is to save the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse from coastal erosion.

A permanent site for our memorial to those lost and buried at sea has been identified by the community on the harbor property of the Trinidad Rancheria. The Civic Club has undertaken a major fundraising campaign to design and build the Memorial.
