The Kleinhelter Gallery in New Albany has a great group exhibition opening this Saturday afternoon. Art all about and for the garden. Lena Wolek, wife of founding PHOTO member Joe Wolek, will have a couple of wonderfully whimsical sculptural pieces on view. Also, Dobree Adams-who has a long history with Harlan and Anna at Payne Hollow-and wife of Jonathan Greene who did literary work with Harlan, including the second publishing of Payne Hollow life on the fringe has a few pieces as well.

Come on out, it will be good to see all…

The Kleinhelter Gallery that I had my last show at during the Louisville Photo, biennial, there’s a great group exhibition happening this Saturday afternoon. Art all about and for the garden. A performance by Bonnie Prince Billy and fabulous accompaniments at the Seedtime on the Cumberland festival last Saturday in Whitesburg, Kentucky hosted by the famed Appalshop. This hauntingly beautiful song spoke to us about Harlan and Anna’s relationship to themselves as a partnership and unit and their feelings and relations to the rest of the world. As they knew, “The water’s fine… “

Will Oldham, AKA Bonnie Prince Billy, dancing with his daughter, Poppy and her best friend, Slvia, while performing Saturday at the 40th anniversary Seedtime on the Cumberlad, the annual music festival hosted by Appalshop in Whitesburg, Kentucky. He’ll be performing at our symposium coming up at Hanover College in October.

Last week we highlighted the monkey man, David Kannapell, taking down a dead hackberry tree threatening the house in the hollow. But he likes to take a bit of R n R with some old time music and dancing, like Saturday at the 40th anniversary of Seedtime on the Cumberland, Appalshop’s annual music festival in Whitesburg, Kentucky. He definitely can cut a rug!

Today in Louisville Crescent Hill neighborhood it’s the annual Crescent Hill Garden tour that starts at the Peterson Dumesnil house and we’ve got a little set up promoting the Hollow. Come on by! It’s a beautiful house in grounds and then the garden tours 11 places around the neighborhood that are worth checking out!
