Did you know that Edgefield County has a Soil and Water Conservation District Office? Here is the link to their office page. Very much out of date. Also attached is their last report from 2023. Nothing on 24, or 25 or 26????? Website: https://www.dnr.sc.gov/conservation/districtsdnr/edgefield.html #:~:text=(A)%20stands%20for%20Appointed.,Conservation%20District%202023%20Annual%20Report

Heal the Dirt: How Farmers Are Detoxing America through regenerative farming. How many farms in South Carolina are using these practices?

Many believe the modern world is making us sick. Rates of obesity, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases are at an all-time high. People are dealing with health conditions that were never heard of 100 years ago. Now, a growing group of regenerative farmers are saying that when we heal the soil, food will become far more nourishing and really β€œcan be our medicine.” How to heal our soil? Where to find these farmers? And what are they offering?

An exclusive look into the fast-growing regenerative farming movement and how it focuses on fixing unhealthy food and chronic disease in America.

A HUGE shoutout to our leaders who have dedicated so much time and effort into HCNP. Not only are they fighting the battle of the RV park on Bream Oak BUT most importantly helping to lay ground work to preserve our area and waterways going forward. It has been said many times but this is a LONG battle. Please continue to engage, show up, and get active. We need planners and those willing to take action.

At the planning commission meeting last night, we learned other areas in Edgefield County are also standing up and reaching out to their representatives with thier concerns.

Now we need Aiken County residents to do the same and all of Edgefield County. There is a way to have growth that is strategically planned and balanced. We can have growth and protect our rural areas and waterways. Together we can do it!

Last week, staff attorney Emily Poole argued our Edgefield RV Park case in Circuit Court, and members of Horse Creek Nature Preserve and Savannah Riverkeeper were right there with her.

These are the neighbors whose homes, wells and waterways sit downstream from a proposed 70-site RV park that the Edgefield County Planning Commission unanimously denied, only to reverse course three months later with no explanation.

This case is about more than an RV park. It's about whether local governments are accountable to their own ordinances and the people they serve.

We expect a ruling in the coming weeks.
