Housing & Community Development Network of NJ

Housing & Community Development Network of NJ The Housing & Community Development Network of NJ is committed to increasing affordable home opportunities for all residents.

The Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey has worked to improve the environment for the work of community development corporations (CDCs), and to strengthen their capacity to create affordable homes and revitalize distressed neighborhoods throughout New Jersey. The Network and its members share a commitment to promoting economic justice and the empowerment of low-income individua

ls and communities, and encouraging wider participation in the framing and implementation of public policies. The Network supports our CDC members by providing targeted technical assistance and educational programs, pursuing additional resources and improved public policies, and conducting research on ways to enhance the impact and effectiveness of the community development sector.

Tell your legislators to fund affordable homes! 🏘️

Budget resolutions currently under consideration in both the New Jersey Assembly and Senate would significantly expand investment in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) and the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) Program. As lawmakers negotiate the FY2027 State Budget, it is critical that we remind them that every New Jerseyan deserves access to an affordable home, and that begins with sustained investments in the development, preservation, and revitalization of communities across our state.

Join us in urging legislators to:

✔️ Support Assembly Budget Resolution #16 (Danielsen) and Senate Budget Resolution #656 (Timberlake) to invest an additional $140 million in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund in FY2027.

✔️ Support Assembly Budget Resolution #752 (Reynolds-Jackson/Legislative Black Caucus) and Senate Budget Resolution #114 (Singleton) to increase the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program cap by $50 million, raising it from the current $15 million cap.

Here in NJ, municipalities can form land banks pursuant to the 2019 New Jersey Land Bank Law and in places like Newark, those efforts are already underway. Join us to learn about the progress that's been made in NJ since the law has been enacted and where we go from here.
