Looking for a beautiful place to start your ride? 🚴🌿

The Trempealeau Trailhead is the perfect starting point for exploring the Great River State Trail. Located just as you enter Trempealeau from Holmen on Highway 35, you'll find convenient parking, restrooms, picnic tables, and a gazebo before you even begin your ride.

Just beyond the trailhead, you'll have the opportunity to see the historic Nicholls Hopewell Mound, then continue across several scenic bridges. About halfway down this section of the trail, take a break at the picnic table and bench overlooking the peaceful marsh, where you can often spot birds, wildlife, and beautiful aquatic plants.

Trail Update: Riding toward Midway? You'll need to turn around after about 2Β½ miles due to the Tank Creek bridge closure, but there's still plenty of beautiful trail to enjoy in the opposite direction.
