🌎💚 From Plastic-Free Living to Sustainable Communities 💚🌎
If you’ve followed Be Plastic Free, you already know that small changes can create big waves. 🌊
Now, we’re taking that same philosophy from recycling bins to garden beds. 🌱
Introducing our newest initiative — Healthy Roots Garden & Community Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in St. Petersburg, FL.
We’re building a community-driven model to:
🥕 Address food insecurity
🌿 Reduce reliance on broken food systems
♻️ Decrease plastic use through local, low-waste food sourcing
💪 Empower families to become self-reliant and resilient
Communities like South St. Pete have been waiting for outside systems to “fix” food access. We’re done waiting. Healthy Roots is creating sustainable micro food systems that meet today’s needs without compromising tomorrow’s resources — proving that local, circular solutions are better for people and the planet.
By growing, sourcing, and distributing food locally, we’re cutting packaging waste, transportation emissions, and plastic dependence — while putting health and opportunity back into the hands of the community. 🌎✨
