The Grange being a Fraternal Organization has degree work. In this degree work are lessons.
In the third degree the Lesson is-Charity. Symbols are-Autumn, Manhood, Flowers, the Fruit, the Ripened Grain. Emblem is the Sickle. Scene is a Farm in the Harvest Season.
A passage from the Steward in the degree work:
“Since the last degree the seasons have changed again. In the First Degree, Springtime, you prepared the soil with FAITH in the Creator. In the Second Degree, Summer, you planted and cultivated, nurturing HOPE. It is now the Autumn, or Harvest time.
The yellow grain is waving for the reapers and gleaners: the rustling corn is hastening toward ripeness: the fruits of the orchards are coloring in succession and bid busy hands to gather them.
All these changes should possess your minds that you may enjoy your advancement and feel as well as hear the attendant lessons. We must reap for the mind as well as for the body, and from the abundance of our harvest, in good deeds and kind words, dispense CHARITY."

Keystone Grange #2 was able to sponsor the Ventrella kiddos from Cedar Hollow Farm and their 4H projects. Raising, working with, and showing animals is not easy, especially for a child. But the lessons they learn are invaluable. Thanks to your support over the year we are able to give back to our community and blessed each kid with $150 towards their project!

Keystone Grange #2 visited Fostering Hope-Montco Chapter today.

A few members delivered purses filled with personal items including shampoo, body soap, toothpaste socks and many more items.
These bags will be given to teen girls who will be entering local foster homes in our area.

Fostering Hope works with the community to collect items that the foster child will need as they enter their new home. This organization is a bridge between a family who graciously accepts children into their home and the foster care system that needs to place them.

Thank you Kathleen Rogalski and Julie Wismer Bechtel for the efforts. We are truly blessed that we are able to give back to the community.
