Hi, Jenna here. Some of you guys may remember me. It feels so good to pick up the rod again. My first fish in almost 2 years. And guess what? I CAUGHT MY FIRST GOLDEN!!! I had a fantastic time and I’m relieved to see I haven’t lost my touch ✨ (I have been going through mountains these last few years. I got diagnosed with numerous disabilities, had 2 surgeries, life, depression, all of the above kept me from the water, but not anymore 🤪)

Summer is almost here and now is the perfect time to make sure you’re ready for your next boating or fishing trip!

- Inspect your boat and gear:

Always make sure you have a properly fitting life jacket for every passenger. Make sure your boat is ready to go before you launch. Inspect it for any damage and carry some tools for fixes while on the water.

- Pack the essentials:

Make sure you have sun protection, extra clothing, plenty of drinking water, high-energy snacks and a fully charged cell phone or marine radio.

- Respect the rules:

Each body of water comes with its own set of regulations, from no-wake zones to fishing restrictions. Make sure to know the regulations before heading out.

- Keep an eye on the forecast:

A calm morning could quickly change to high winds and storms. Make sure to consult multiple forecasts and remain alert when you’re on the water.

- Chart your course:

Know where you’re launching from, where you’re headed and when you plan to return. File your float plan with a family member or friend.

-Enjoy:

By preparing for your outing, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy yourself!

Walleye season is here! Let's get to know this Pennsylvania fish!

It's nicknamed the Susquehanna Salmon and has been called "yellow pike" and even "pickerel." All these are wrong. It's neither a pike cousin nor salmon. It's the biggest, toothiest member of the perch family.

The name walleye refers to the fish's large, milky eye that looks luminous when light is shined on it.

Walleyes have a long, roundish body, a forked tail and sharp canine teeth in their jaws.
They vary in color, ranging from bluish gray to olive-brown to golden-yellow. Their side scales may be flecked with gold.
