The government may be opening again but refugee and other immigrant families are facing a hunger crisis. Because of the Big Beautiful Bill that was passed in July, almost all noncitizens who are not green card holders — including refugees, humanitarian parolees and other lawfully present immigrants — have lost access to SNAP for 1–2 years. World Relief is responding, but the need is urgent.

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to set a fiscal year 2026 ceiling for refugee admissions of 7,500. At World Relief, we are deeply troubled by this reported number, which would be the lowest level set for refugee arrivals in U.S. history. Under the authority of the Refugee Act of 1980, the president has the authority and responsibility to set a refugee ceiling — the maximum number of refugees who could be admitted — after consulting with specific congressional leaders. Yet these consultations have reportedly not yet occurred.

We urge the administration to make the U.S. a haven for refugees seeking to rebuild their lives in safety, including those of all faiths fleeing religious persecution. At a time when there are more refugees globally than ever in recorded history, will you join us in fiercely advocating for a higher refugee ceiling?

💙 Let's Put Hope In Motion! Join the World Relief Baltimore Fundraising Challenge!

This season, refugee and immigrant families are rebuilding their futures here in Maryland, and YOU can help.

Here’s the best part: every dollar you raise will be matched — up to $25,000! 🙌

You don’t have to be an athlete to make an impact (but if you are, why not turn those miles into meaning?). Walk, run, swim, bike — or simply mobilize your network to give and pray.

Let’s make sure every step we take helps a newly arrived family take theirs. 💪
You can take your own step of faith and fundraise for your own athletic challenge—whether you run, walk, swim, bike or cheer from the sidelines.

If you aren't interested in a fitness challenge, you can still give and share this with your network to meet the match!

💙 Double Your Impact – Invite your friends and family to join you in your Fundraising Challenge! Create your personal fundraising page and set a goal or an amount that feels meaningful to you. By mobilizing your community, you multiply the resources available to serve and support refugee and immigrant families.
Together, let’s meet — and exceed — that $20,000 match.

Today, we celebrate the joy, resilience, and perseverance of immigrants who have become new Americans through naturalization. Each oath taken is more than a milestone — it’s a testimony of hope, belonging, and a new chapter of opportunity.

This year, World Relief Baltimore’s Immigration Legal Services team reached a special milestone: our 100th client became a U.S. citizen — with many more on the way! 🎉

Through careful screening, preparation, and representation, our staff walk alongside neighbors on their journey toward citizenship. Becoming a citizen protects families, opens doors to jobs and education, and empowers civic participation. Yet, millions of eligible immigrants still face barriers — from financial challenges to lack of legal support. That’s why our work matters.

💙 At World Relief Baltimore, we believe citizenship affirms the dignity of every neighbor made in God’s image.

👉 Today, we welcome new citizens. Tomorrow, we keep advocating for immigrant families still waiting for safety, stability, and home.

Join us in celebrating, praying, and supporting this important work. Together, we can ensure that more of our neighbors take this life-changing step forward.

What does living boldly mean to you? In Jesus’ life, we see a challenging example of what it means to live boldly — to love sacrificially and act bravely on behalf of others, despite the risks. How can Jesus followers live boldly in the midst of the world's crises today?
