Topeka Doula Project Providing education, support, and guidance during pregnancy, labor & birth, and the postpartum period

A Topeka area nonprofit offering volunteer doula support to teen mothers, incarcerated mothers, and low-income single mothers. We serve pregnant women through prenatal education, continuous labor support, and sustained postpartum community connection. Our goals are to provide pregnancy and childbirth education that entrusts mothers to make informed decisions about their care, to empower moms to ma

ke healthy decisions for the well-being of themselves and their children, and to improve the mother’s birth experience. I consider myself a full-spectrum doula; someone who brings the doula model of care to people across the full spectrum of pregnancy experiences, including abortion, adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage, and stillbirth. I offer nonjudgmental support during these times to help women processing the experience and move forward.

It's Workplace Lactation Week (WLW)! The 2026 WLW theme is "Work. Pump. Advance. Empowering the modern parent." Workplace Lactation Week was created in 2023 by Healthy Horizons and is celebrated annually from September 1-7. The observance celebrates the contributions of nursing mothers and parents in the workplace and aligns with Labor Day, highlighting the vital role working and pumping parents play in the workforce.​

Big news for our growing families! 👶✨

We are officially launching a Pasteurized Donor Breastmilk Pilot Program to support mothers who are dedicated to exclusive breastfeeding.

Whether you have a newborn or an older infant, this program is open to babies of ANY age. The main requirement is that Mom’s goal is exclusive breastfeeding. When unexpected health hurdles arise or a baby needs short-term supplementation, keeping up with exclusive breastfeeding can be tough.

Our new pilot provides safe, pasteurized donor milk as a temporary bridge, giving moms time to heal while keeping babies strictly on human milk.

Reach out to your local lactation professional (Hospital BF clinic, WIC, and other Lactation professional) to learn about eligibility and access!

A huge special shout-out to our incredible partners at the Oklahoma Mothers' Milk Bank (OMMB) and the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition Inc. (KBC) for helping us make this vital support available to our community! 🙌
