Topeka Doula Project Providing education, support, and guidance during pregnancy, labor & birth, and the postpartum period

A Topeka area nonprofit offering volunteer doula support to teen mothers, incarcerated mothers, and low-income single mothers. We serve pregnant women through prenatal education, continuous labor support, and sustained postpartum community connection. Our goals are to provide pregnancy and childbirth education that entrusts mothers to make informed decisions about their care, to empower moms to ma

ke healthy decisions for the well-being of themselves and their children, and to improve the mother’s birth experience. I consider myself a full-spectrum doula; someone who brings the doula model of care to people across the full spectrum of pregnancy experiences, including abortion, adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage, and stillbirth. I offer nonjudgmental support during these times to help women processing the experience and move forward.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: KCSDV welcomes Mothyna James-Brightful for Echoes of Change: Ethical Storytelling for Survivor-Centered Impact.

This training will help survivors, advocates, and community partners strengthen survivor-centered storytelling, clearly communicate the impact of their work, and build stronger community support for victim services programs across Kansas.
