Another event completed for 2026 Junior Miss Wheelchair Kansas, Annaliese (AJ). AJ and her mentor, Ms. Wheelchair Kansas, Magda, visited the Capitol in Topeka, Kansas on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and spoke to Mr. Mike Priner, Director of Policy for Senate President Ty Masterson.

The conversation centered around challenges that wheelchair users experience and how our State Legislatures can help. Many examples were shared and possible solutions were discussed. The meeting was positive and both Magda & AJ expressed interest in testifying about their lived experiences when bills come forth as they pertain to anything impacting wheelchair users and any other disability issue.

It was a great day for advocacy work and both AJ and Magda did a super job communicating and showing passion for being in a leadership role that allows them to make a difference for so many.

Celebrating Earth Day!

Earth Day 2026 ♿💚

At Little Miss Wheelchair Kansas, we believe caring for our planet means caring for everyone who lives on it.

We love seeing recycling bins that are easy to reach from a wheelchair, recycling centers designed for accessibility, and clean sidewalks that allow safe and smooth travel for all.

A clean Earth shouldn’t have barriers. 🌱

It’s everyone’s responsibility to protect our environment—and to make sure our world is accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all abilities.

đź’š A Clean Earth for Everyone to Enjoy! đź’š

Paint Brush Art Work: This was a project that former 2025 Junior Miss, Isabel, and 2026 Junior Miss, Annaliese (AJ), lead with the Little Miss contestants and former 2025 Little Miss, Mia. They painted on the backsides of wooden hairbrushes & had them shellacked.

Isabel went a step further and painted logos of Ms. Wheelchair Kansas, Junior Miss Wheelchair, and Little Miss Wheelchair. She will enter her artwork into her school’s art fair this Spring and then will donate the pieces to the Ms. Wheelchair Kansas organization so they can be auctioned off at next year’s crowning ceremony! What a way to give back and to spread the word about this wonderful organization. Kudos to you, Isabel!
