Paw Huggers Animal Rescue THE RESCUE IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Paw Huggers Animal Rescue relies solely on volunteers, fosters, and donations.

We at Paw Huggers are grateful for such a giving group of foster volunteers. By fostering an animal in need, you are able to show them what it is like to be in a safe environment full of love. Many of our animals have not had the chance, or have forgotten what it is like to be part of a family. Fostering a dog or cat is a tangible and rewarding way to make a difference in that animals life. Every foster space that we have available takes another animal off of the streets. It is difficult to learn the true personality of an animal that is caged all day in a boarding facility. By fostering these dogs and cats we are able to learn their personalities and better evaluate them for their forever home. WISH LIST:

To everyone who has supported us over the years, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you to everyone who adopted a pet from us and welcomed them into your family. Thank you to those who donated, fostered, volunteered, and shared our posts. Every act of kindness made a difference.

One of the greatest joys has been seeing updates and watching our babies become your babies—loved, cherished, and living their best lives. It truly means the world to us.

Please continue to share and encourage adoption whenever you can. Adopting saves lives, and together we have helped save so many.

As life has gotten busier, our family and our funny farm are keeping us plenty occupied these days. While we are stepping back, I’m sure we’ll still rescue from time to time—we seem to come across strays more often than not!

Welcome Olive to Paw Huggers!
This girl was found a few months ago and the finder did the responsible thing by reaching out to rescues to make sure she ended up in a good home. They just didn’t have the time to commit to her. She is not potty trained. She is good with other dogs and children. The rest we shall find out soon enough.

Vetting will begin stat because her teeth are in rough shape, she is not spayed and has had no vetting that we know of. No chip and no owners came forward after posting all over.

She might be a foster fail but she has to fit in with all the critters. 😳

This little was across our creek stuck on a little island area. I walked probably a mile and a half total, through the woods in my waders trying to find a shallow place to cross bc I’m an old chicken these days. Carried her the entire way back. I’ll weigh her later but I’d say at least 20lbs. She’s scared and wet and I’m worn out but she is safe now. Just a baby. Will get her vetted asap and up for adoption. We could really use some help with her vetting so if you can donate we would greatly appreciate it.

Remember Kip, the little chi that had two puppies?
Well one of her puppies was just adopted by a wonderful family that has adopted two other dogs from us. The timing couldn’t have worked out better. His foster family was flying to Oregon and his new family drove from Washington to pick him up. So he never had to go in the cargo hold or ride in a long transport. Gillis will be living with Brunson the big sweet pittie and Clover the little wild woman scruffy terrier mix. So happy for them all!

This little guy was homeless in this extreme heat, skinny (pictures don’t really show how skinny he is), covered in fleas, ringworm, has an upper respiratory infection but meowing and following me and my clients around. Sooooo he headed home with me and I have already started treatments.

His name is Woody, short for the street he was found on.
