Saturdays with God

Often, when God is using us, we still desire to be accepted and understood by people who aren't walking the same path. If I'm honest, my struggle has never been with other people's choices. It's been wanting people to understand my heart, my journey, and the place God has called me to be.

I once heard Oprah say that one reason Gayle has remained her best friend is because she never wanted Oprah's life. That thing stayed with me. Comparison has a way of changing relationships. Not everyone can celebrate a path they don't understand.

Lately, God has me in a place of complete trust. People ask questions looking for answers, but the truth is, I don't have them all. What I do have is faith. And if I'm vulnerable enough to admit it, I've never felt more exposed... yet I've never felt more FREE!

Free from needing validation.
Free from having to explain every decision.
Free to simply trust God.

Saturdays with God

Sometimes we get so caught up in the process, so focused on completing the task that we forget who Jesus is. Yesterday, I was reminded that He is the same in my valleys as He is on my mountaintops. Unchanging. Faithful. Powerful!
I KNOW He still moves mountains. But if I’m honest, there are moments when I slip into accepting outcomes as if I’m the one responsible for controlling them. And that’s where I get out of order, thinking it was ever my place to carry that weight.

If no weapon formed against me shall prosper, why should I be shaken? I’ve never seen Him lose. Not once! So today, I choose to trust again. To release control. To remember who He is, no matter what I’m facing. And God, forgive me for the moments I doubted what You’ve always proven to be true. 🙏🏽

Saturdays with God: I wrote a longer version of this earlier this week! I love that I can be in a vulnerable state and feel safe with MYSELF!
Wednesday, I heard a whisper: “You’re trying to carry God’s problem.” Not a rebuke…just a release.
Everything in my life feels like it’s shifting at once, BUT I’m learning the difference between being responsible and being in control.
I (you) show up—God handles the outcomes.
I (you) stay faithful—God handles the fight.
I (you) stay obedient—God opens the doors.
What feels like loss is actually realignment.
This is Not a losing season, it is a restructuring one.
So today, I’m choosing to: Stay humble. Stay faithful. Stay consistent. Stay growing. Stay ME! (Get other peoples insecurities off of you)
Because when you carry what belongs to God, it’s exhausting. But when you release it, it’s PEACE.
I’m (you are) not failing: just being repositioned.
I’m (you are) not losing: just being lightened.
God is STILL here. Be Blessed!

Saturdays with God:

You can make all the plans in the world, and still find they don’t line up with God’s plan. You can feel content where you are, while God is quietly requiring more of you more time with Him, more faith, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. And sometimes, we don’t recognize it as growth; we mistake it for attack and call it “the devil.”

But healing is a process. Trusting is a process. Growing is a process.

Last Saturday, I planted seeds. Today, they’ve already pushed through the dirt. That’s how God works…beneath the surface, where no one sees, He’s preparing something to rise.

Don’t let anyone treat your growth as mediocre.
And if you’re in any relationship (friend, family, or lover) that makes you feel like you have to compete to be valued, let it go. What God placed in you is not meant to be compared.
Because:.. There IS something special about you.
And I need YOU to know what it is first. Be Blessed

Saturdays with God: Sometimes we feel like we’re praying enough, working hard enough, and trying our best, yet adversity still finds a way to creep in and test us. Over time, we can grow complacent… not really caring anymore. Not about people. Not even about ourselves.

We mask it with ego, image, and the need to compete or prove a point, when what we truly need is healing from within.

It starts with learning to genuinely love ourselves first without expecting others to fill that space for us. When we stop looking outward for validation and start looking UPward for assurance, everything shifts.

Just know: GOD LOVES YOU.
And once you truly receive that love, you’ll begin to feel better, live better, and love others from a healthier place.

Saturdays with GOD: Happiness isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s a choice. Sometimes it’s something you have to fight for.
The world teaches us that happy comes from what happens around us. But Jesus teaches us that happy comes from what happens within us.
When the week has been heavy, prayers felt delayed, & when life didn’t go how we planned…We can still choose JOY over our circumstances.
Today, breathe. Smile on purpose, Thank God on purpose, Get some rest on purpose.

Good Friday:
This week was definitely a trying one. And for me to even say that out loud means I have to be very vulnerable, because I don’t easily complain or express hurt. But with fasting, praying, and studying, I already knew the enemy would try to form some weapons… but y’all know the rest.
Last Sunday, I walked into church with a spirit of overwhelm and couldn’t hold my emotions back. I wept to the point that everyone kept asking if I was okay. And the truth is… I really was OK.
While many focus on Easter, there’s something about Palm Sunday that overwhelms me with gratitude every time. It reminds me of who God is, even in the middle of what I feel.
Today is a good day. Let’s make it that.

Saturdays with GOD: This week I have literally been functioning on autopilot: mixing up dates, running from one thing to the next, and just trying to keep it all together. But when I tell you GOD will step in right on time…Favor ain’t fair!

Many people assume they know what’s on my plate and sometimes just label it as me being “busy.” But what they don’t always see is that simple acts of service I do…goes a long way. When someone shows up for me, lends a hand, or simply listens to me, when God places it on their heart…it matters more than words can say!

I’m beyond grateful for the people who truly see me, who hear from GOD on my behalf, and who move with love and obedience toward me.

So today I just want to say thank you, God… and thank you to the ones who listen when He speaks. Be Blessed!
