Earlier this week, we raised the Pan African flag at One Government Center to honor Black History Month. This year, we join the nation in honoring 100 years of preserving Black stories, achievements, and contributions across generations.

This flag represents more than history. It represents resilience, leadership, culture, and the continued impact of Black residents, past and present, who have shaped Toledo into the city it is today.

As we raise this flag, we recommit to remembering, learning, and celebrating Black history—not just this month, but every day.
