Babybox….The mission is simple: Helping expecting single mothers and families in need! As Christians, we are all about the pro-life movement and always count it as a victory when a mother chooses life over abortion. It wasn’t until I came across an article and heard some real life stories that my core was shaken as I realized that many times after the “victory” is where our involvement ends. It’s

like we say “Yay, a baby was given chance at life” and then walk away. In reality, some of the reasons a mother even considers abortion as an option is because she is scared, ill-prepared, low income, etc. Once she gives birth to the baby, a whole new world of struggles and stress (and yes, joy amongst all that too) is about to begin. So Christians, where are we after the baby is born? Why should our involvement end at the decision to choose life? Baby Box is a simple and tangible way to show Christ’s love to struggling mothers and families who are expecting or have a new little one in their life. Our goal at Babybox is to deliver to individuals as well as local Pregnancy centers and other organizations boxes that are filled with essentials for a new baby. Each box will include items such as diapers, toiletries onesies, blankets, and more. Also included will be a letter or some form of encouragement in Christ. Now, this is not just a “Christian” issue or a “pro life” issue. This is an issue of human life and need. This is an issue of humanity. By no means do you need to be a religious person to be involved with Babybox! There are so many dreams and plans that we would like to achieve through Babybox but for now, as we are literally in the baby steps (no pun intended), of getting this started we need to keep things simple. The current goal is to be able to provide 20 boxes a month; the breakdown is 15 boxes to the Pregnancy Center and 5 to individuals. Eventually we want to increase those box numbers and we have a list of other organizations that we would like to deliver to! Another future goal is to also sponsor a child for the first year of life, providing a box each month. Each box costs roughly $40 to fill (including the price of the box). Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated, whether its $5 or $50, it still helps! We are hoping and praying that you would also consider becoming a monthly donor, committing to donating $40 a month to supply one box for a baby, or any amount would be great! This is such a simple way to impact and bless not only a new life, but the mother and family as well. We are also excepting donations of gently used baby clothing and other supplies (newborn – 3 months especially). If you have items you would like to donate please check message me here on Facebook or email me at [email protected]

****IMPORTANT UPDATE: Hey everyone, Andrea here! I have really been putting a lot of thought into the structure of Babybox and something just kept feeling “off”. The end goal is to show love and provide for the needs of a new baby and his/her struggling mother/family, but the question I have been pondering is…” what is the best means for people to get involved and help meet this need?” I realized that when I have a passion for something and want to get involved, I usually want to do more than just donate money or an item (though there is nothing wrong with that), and I think a lot of people feel like that too. So what can I do to create a way that is effective but lets you awesome people get more involved? So here is what I’ve come up with…..you will be the one making a “Babybox”! I will provide a list of the needed items and other instructions and then you will go out and shop for the supplies, customize it however you want, fill the box, write a note, and then bring it back for me to distribute!

Now, you can still make monetary donations (they are needed), or just make a simple donation of some baby items if that is the easiest for you. Anything is appreciated! I will soon be posting a general list/instruction sheet for anyone who wants to get involved. This is all still in the beginning stages and I am running this from my home…with that being said I am currently in the midst of researching options for Babybox drop off locations!

I will keep you guys posted =)

Thanks for reading this! Be blessed!

A big thanks to Alison for donating some baby clothes and blankets this week! =)

Sorry for the lack of Facebook presence lately everyone! I have been busy with some other things going on in life and have also been working on getting things set up and restructuring the format of Babybox! There will be a post in the next few days with more information as to what I mean when I say restructuring......I think you guys will like it though; it's going to be a lot more hands on for the supporters of Babybox! =) Stay tuned!

This is a small detail of it all but up until now I was planning on using cardboard boxes, but the idea of putting the items in some type of small-mid size storage bin just came to me. The reason I am considering this option is because the cardboard box will likely be thrown out, but a plastic bin can be kept and used to store other baby item and such in. Like I said, it's a small detail but something that came to mind.

What do you guys think?

We would really love to be able to start blessing expecting mothers and families by the end of March (if not sooner!) but we can't do it without the supplies! Even if you can't help monetarily, if you could please take a second to share this page, the donation page, and our mission that would help so much :) we need to raise awareness and spread the word!

Thanks!

Thank you all so much for your support so far! As I talked to the Community Outreach Director of the Pregnancy Center yesterday my heart went out as she was sharing the number of girls that went through the Pregnancy Center this past year and that this past month of January blew last years January numbers out of the water.

She also mentioned that sometimes they don't feel like anyone cares. And that is exactly why we are doing this! Yes, we are also providing essential items but in the larger scheme of this all we truly want these girls and families to feel loved, to know that someone cares about them. To feel loved and cared for.....no strings attached.

You have the opportunity to be a part of something that will provide hope and essentials to an expecting mother/family! We are so excited to start putting together boxes to distribute, however, we cannot do that until we raise the funds and get the supplies. You can help by making a donation at the link below (no matter how big or small, it still helps!) or donating gently used baby clothes and other items (please message me for a full list).

Another HUGE way you can help is by sharing the donation link and page! Share, share, share =) Get the word out there so we can start helping those in our community!
