Good morning, Everyone. I am excited to invite you all to an upcoming webinar I think you’d like to attend. My work at NICHQ is centering communities as leaders in our innovative approach to shift the paradigm in maternal and infant outcomes. NICHQ is excited to share how we envision aligning our work with others to ensure we provide valuable community support. “Recognizing the Value of Our Presence,” presented by NICHQ’s Community-Centered Hospital Initiative (CCHI), will be held virtually on Thursday, April 24 , from 2:00-3:30 PM. CCHI focuses on rebalancing power dynamics, showcasing resilience, and uplifting how partnerships between communities, Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs), and hospitals can improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

Please join us in centering communities by recognizing their leadership in improving perinatal and infant health, honoring their expertise, and building on the practices and processes they already use.

Fear is powerful, but acknowledging and transforming it can catalyze strength and motivation. In my journey as a social justice advocate, I drew upon the lived experiences of my ancestors and my own.

We at Baby 1st Network aim to empower and support others to speak up for themselves, find their voices, choose their battles, and join the fight using our radical imagination. Tanisha G. Hill-Jarrett says this means “stepping outside the confines of the now into the expansiveness of what could be.” This event is of great importance to the OCPIM Community as it provides a platform to learn from the past, work in the present, and positively impact the future.

If you are interested in hearing from birthing professionals and would like to join in the discussion as we explore the following questions.
