Arts Midwest is currently accepting applications for the 2026 Peter Capell Award for Midwestern Creativity & Entrepreneurship.

This one-time award of $2,500 will honor an Ohioan who has made a significant impact on their arts community.

What is it? An unrestricted award of $2,500 for one visionary arts leader.

Who can apply? Ohioans who work in creative or cultural programming, demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking and business acumen in their role, and who have at least ten years of experience in the field.

Where? You must live and/or work in Ohio with your primary impact on this geographic region.

When to apply? Applications are due by October 6, 2026, with an awardee being announced in November.

🥔 Class 7 in the Books: Loaded Baked Potatoes! 🥓🧀✨

Our Whisk Takers chefs took on loaded baked potatoes for yesterday's session, mastering everything from baking technique to custom flavor pairings!

Our young leaders got hands-on experience prepping potato bases, crisping up savory toppings, and assembling complete, well-balanced meals.

Why We Whisk:

The Whisk Takers Youth Culinary Literacy Program equips youth ages 10–17 with practical kitchen skills, nutrition education, and the confidence to cook from scratch. By teaching our young chefs how simple ingredients transform into nourishing meals, we build food equity, inspire self-reliance, and foster a healthy connection to food in our community.

Our Whisk Takers Youth Culinary Program chefs were back at the stovetop for session 6 today, putting their culinary literacy to work! Today's lesson focused on building flavors from scratch as our young leaders prepped fresh ingredients to craft a creamy, flavorful Rotel dip—ditching the processed shortcuts for real, wholesome cooking.

🍳 Big Cheers to Our Whisk Takers Youth Culinary Program Chefs! 🍔🍟

Our young chefs absolutely smashed it in the kitchen this Thursday! From shaping juicy, perfectly seasoned burgers to slicing and crisping up fresh, homemade fries from scratch, their focus and teamwork were on full display.
Watching them build confidence behind the counter while mastering real culinary techniques was the highlight of our week.

Today was a successful day 3 of our Whisk Takers Youth Culinary Program .

Our youth chefs are now prepared and knowledgeable on the art of spaghetti and fresh garlic bread👩🏾‍🍳👨‍🍳🍝
