Celebration of Life for Mark Resch

Please join us as we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Mark Resch.

Mark was the kind of person who showed up, stayed late, answered the phone, and somehow made even the longest meetings better just by being there. He gave freely of his time, cared deeply about people, and had a way of keeping things moving—with a smile, a story, or a perfectly timed comment that reminded everyone not to take life too seriously.

We’ll come together to share memories, laughter, and a few stories Mark might pretend to be embarrassed by—but would secretly enjoy hearing.

Who says you can't do both? Congratulations to some of Troop 77 for their participation in CHS's production of Starship Adventure! You all did a fantastic job! These kinds of experiences help promote leadership, encourage teamwork, build confidence and forge work ethics, all important in creating our future leaders!

We have 2 new places to drop off new unwrapped toys! Thurmont Senior Center, and Thurmont Kountry Kitchen!

We need to end the collection a little earlier than normal this year to get the Marines the toys so they have time to process and distribute them...we will collect the boxes November 30th!

Please help us make Christmas a little brighter for kids right here in Frederick County!

THANK YOU, NORTHERN FREDERICK COUNTY!!! Because of your generosity, we were able to collect over 6400 pounds of food for the Thurmont Food Bank! That's over 3 TONS!!!

Now we need you one more time, as we collect toys for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots campaign. The last photo in this grouping has the drop off locations!

Hey, Thurmont! Last weekend our Scouts placed door hangers and grocery bags on front doorknobs all around town. We ask that you put non-perishable food items in the bags and set the bags on your front porch or stoop by 8:30 AM for collection TOMORROW, SATURDAY NOVEMBER 8th. The food Bank also needs personal items like soap, toilet paper, diapers, etc. All of your donations will be delivered to the Thurmont Food Bank where they will be sorted and stored for distribution to residents in need.
All the food collected will be given the Thurmont Food Bank. You can also drop off donations at the Food Bank, 10 Frederick Road on Saturday morning.

Every kid deserves a toy at Christmas. With rising inflation, government shutdowns, and people losing their jobs, a lot of parents right here in northern Frederick County are struggling with how they will manage this Christmas. The Scouts of Thurmont and the Marine Corps Reserve are once again trying desperately to come to their rescue through our Toys For Tots campaign.

Please bring your donations of NEW, UNWRAPPED toys by NOVEMBER 30th to one of our drop boxes:
Jubilee Foods, Emmitsburg
Mountaingate Family Restaurant, Thurmont
Ace Hardware, Thurmont

Hey Thurmont! Saturday, November 1st Scouts will be coming around town in the morning with hang tags explaining our Scouting for Food campaign. We will be collecting donations for the Thurmont Food Bank on the following SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH!

If you live in town, it's simple...leave your donations near your front door on the morning of Saturday, November 8th and Scouts will come around to pick them up!

If you live out of town and would still like to donate, you can give your donation to a local scout before Saturday the 8th, or you can drop your donation off at the food bank on the 8th between 9 and 11AM.

Unfortunately, this year the need is great. Please consider donating and supporting us in this important service project!

Into the woods! Our fearless band of adventure seekers in Troop 77 braved the forest of the Walkersville Watershed. We unplugged and connected with nature, honing camping skills like chopping wood and cooking with no electricity. Many rank and badge requirements got signed off, and the fresh air did us a ton of good!
