With programs for kids ages 5 - 17, there's something for every kid this summer at YMCA Storer Camps.
Day Camp (5 - 12 years old): Each day is filled with exciting adventures—whether it’s discovering wildlife at our Nature Center, making a splash at the waterfront, competing in fun sports and games, or exploring the wonders of the outdoors. Our experienced staff creates a safe, engaging, and encouraging environment where campers can build confidence, make new friends, and create lifelong memories.
Traditional Camp (7-12): Exactly what comes to mind when you're picturing a summer camp experience. Whether campers are conquering the climbing wall, paddling across the lake or sitting around the campfire, every moment is designed to build confidence, independence and unforgettable memories!
Ranch (8 - 16): Each day, campers will enjoy two incredible horse lessons at the Ranch (weather permitting), where they’ll build confidence in the saddle and connect with our amazing horses. But the fun doesn’t stop there! In addition to their equestrian experience, campers will also dive into classic camp adventures like swimming, open boating, exploring the critter room, arts & crafts, and so much more!
Teen Camps (13 - 17): YMCA Storer Camps offers a plethora of options for teenagers to get the perfect experience. Trailblazers takes the traditional camp experience and molds it to teen expectations. Pathfinder and Outback provide space for teens to learn and grow both at and away from camp. From epic outdoor challenges to a canoeing trip away from camp, every moment is filled with adventure, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Each village has its own unique traditions and tight bonds, but they also come together for exciting activities, games, and camp-wide fun! Expeditioners get to test their skills and knowledge in a rustic environment. During the week, Campers will learn wilderness skills with lessons of fire building,shelter building, cooking on an open flame, orienteering, working as part of a team to explore even the outer limits of camp. Expeditioners will use the “Leave no trace” ethic while at camp to minimize impacts to the outdoor environment.
Leadership Village (16 & 17 year olds): Leadership Development Program (16 year olds) is a new program this summer. Through dynamic daily sessions, LDP participants will dive into team-building challenges, personal growth activities, and leadership training, all while enjoying the best that camp has to offer. Whether you’re guiding a group, solving problems on the fly, or reflecting on your strengths, this program will push you to grow, lead, and inspire.
The LDP focuses on self-reliance, teamwork, and innovation, helping teens become stronger communicators, problem-solvers, and role models—all while having a blast in a supportive, high-energy environment! Counselor-in-Training (17 year olds) experience what life will be like as an adult - and as a future staff member. Throughout this adventure, CITs will dive into hands-on leadership training, team-building challenges, and essential childcare skills, all while learning the behind-the-scenes magic that makes camp unforgettable. From shadowing experienced counselors in different activity areas to learning conflict resolution and group management, CITs will gain real-world experience in a fun, supportive environment.
The grand finale? An action-packed week of cabin living, where CITs step into leadership roles, working alongside counselors to guide and inspire younger campers. This isn’t just training—it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact, form incredible friendships, and set yourself up for future success as a camp leader!
