On behalf of the Three Rivers players and the little sisters of slick rock (Nunsense) I want to think each and every person who supported our production by volunteering, helping in any way they could, and by coming to see the show and cheering us on. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun and it makes us even happier when all of our hard work pays off and you enjoy the show.

We still have a few tickets available at the door for the dinner theater tonight. Only $50 for a hilarious show and an amazing meal by Tony Taverna.

Show only tickets are available as well. If you just wanna come see the show that’s $15 general admission $10 for students and seniors.

Dinner is at 6 o’clock. Show is at seven all at the Presbyterian Church Harrison Fellowship Hall.

NUNSENSE!
Lots of folks have asked why we are performing at the church fellowship hall instead of the memorial building or arts center.
Well you sort of have to see the show to understand - but the venue is actually a “character” in the show. It plays vital role in creating the perfect setting and atmosphere- Mt St Whitney School Cafeteria - And the ability to interact with the audience makes it that much more fun.

Meet Sister Mary Leo, (Katie Benitez)

Katie Benitez is excited to be back on stage with this production of Nunsense after a long hiatus from musical theater. She grew up in Fresno, California and took part in many musical endeavors. Singing was a fundamental part of Katie’s childhood and beyond as she was involved in local and school choirs from first grade up through college. Through that time, Katie loved being a part of musical theater productions. She started in elementary school with the Wizard of Oz, and culminating in participating in every musical that her High Schcool, Roosevelt School of the Arts had to offer. Most notably, Katie starred in her High Schools rendition of Brigadoon as Fiona.

Sister Mary Leo is one of the novices at Slick Rock. She has always been drawn to the world of dance, often practicing ballet in front of a mirror in her room and performing for a small audience of friends and family. While she dreamed of performing ballet on grand stages, she always had a sense of spiritual yearning that eventually lead her to enter the convent. Her life’s goal is to use her gift of ballet to worship God and become a famous Nun Ballerina. Sister Mary Leo may at times seem out of place with her tutu-clad dreams. However, her unwavering faith and enthusiasm shows her commitment to living out her vows for her chosen life even if they seem to be at odds with her artistic yearnings.

NUNSENSE - Meet Sister Mary Tinnitus - our choir director (Lizzy Bauer)

Sister Mary Tinnitus was born in Clovis, CA, back before chickens had feathers. The nuns of Our Lady of Perpetual Hope took her in as an infant, after finding her swaddled on the church doorsteps, and she was raised in the Catholic Church ever since. After a lifetime of service, she now holds the position of Musical Director for the convent’s Little Sisters of Slick Rock choir group. In her spare time, she enjoys napping and feeding leftover communion wafers to the songbirds.

Lizzy McArthur-Bauer grew up in Three Rivers, CA and graduated from Three Rivers Union Elementary School and Woodlake Union High School. She received her B.A. in English from Cal Poly Humboldt State University and began her career working in the field of environmental education as a Naturalist at Crystal Cave in Sequoia National Park. In her travels, Lizzy has worked for a variety of parks and nature-based non-profits, such as the Gunnison National Forest, the Oregon Zoo, and the Great Basin Outdoor School. In 2021, she received a Master degree in Environmental Management from Western Colorado University and later moved back to Three Rivers with her husband, Aaron McArthur.

A bit of a disaster has happened back at the convent so The Little Sisters of Slick Rock are putting on a variety show to raise money to bury four dead nuns still kept in the freezer.
