💛🦃 This Thanksgiving, Spade and Trowel Garden Club is especially grateful for the hospitality of First Baptist. The church graciously provides space for many of our monthly meetings, and we deeply appreciate their generosity.

At today’s November meeting, to express our thanks, club members brought food items to donate to the House of Care—First Baptist’s ministry dedicated to providing food for individuals and families in need.

Today’s meeting was hosted by Anna Crawford, Bethany Trice, Martha Gaskins and Sandra Singer. Terry Johnson, retired wildlife biologist and author of “A Journey of Discovery”, delivered the program, an interesting presentation on gardening with native plants. Betty Franklin represented the artistic design committee and shared how she arranged a beautiful Thanksgiving display. 🦃💛

🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 From Spade and Trowel Garden Club, thank you to each and every brave man and woman who had the courage to answer the call of serving our incredible country. We love and honor our local heroes.

Members of the Garden Therapy Committee visited the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Zebulon, Georgia on Nov. 7 to donate 18 coats, eight hats and 24 pair of socks. We hope to keep veterans warm all winter long!

This Veterans Day, let's come together to give back to those who have given so much to us. Contact your local VA clinic at 404-728-7728 to help meet their needs and see what YOU can do to honor veterans. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

🍂🧡🌻Spade and Trowel Garden Club's monthly meeting was held this morning at First Baptist Church of Thomaston.

Hostesses were Lauren Hall, Melody Gaskins, and Wanda Renfroe. Melody and Wanda (not pictured) helped Lauren set up before leaving to represent our club at the Redbud District Garden Club meeting in Griffin.

To start off the meeting, Teresa Lowe delivered an engaging devotional and shared that ugly pumpkins make great pie! Pumpkins or people, God uses ALL for His glory and created each of us with intention.

Andrea Fallin went on to present the program, a fall floral arranging demonstration led by Jinger Roberts of Jinger's Showcase. Watching Jinger craft beautiful arrangements so effortlessly is always a treat for our members!

Patsy Adams, Patricia Cox and Glenda Stevens were the lucky door prize winners and got to take home a vibrant potted croton plant and the pumpkin arrangements made by Jinger.

Still in their garden club best, members of the "Make Thomaston Shine" committee gathered directly after the meeting to put together an adorable autumn display outside the Courthouse Annex building.

The high may have been 83 degrees today, but be sure to cut back and divide your perennials because it's fall, y'all! 🌻🧡🍂

🤍🌼 🌹 Welcome to the new page for the Spade and Trowel Garden Club of Thomaston!

Wanda Renfroe, our new leading lady, took the reins this morning and kicked off another year of Spade and Trowel. Wanda is a retired teacher and has been a member of our club since 2017. She previously served as First Vice President under Melody Gaskins.

The lovely hostesses of today’s meeting were Susan Cochran, Tricia Cox (not pictured), Bobbie Johnston, and Claudia Perkins.

Patsy Jo Adams presented the program and gave helpful pointers for preparing specimens for the Yellow Daisy Flower Show in September.

JoAnn Holstrom had the luck of the draw and won the door prize, a beautiful potted zinia.
