Things have been moving along here at CBTC. Last week we had the honor of having Mr Randy in the rod shop with us. It’s not my place to tell his story but man is he someone I will always look up to. Full of resilience, strength and determination; things I hope to embody. I might have taught him how to build a fishing rod but the things he taught me will always be greater. God always has a way of placing people in your life when it’s needed. Thanks for amazing week Mr Randy. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Until next time my friend. 🫡

Sorry we’ve been quiet! Since our inception in June, we have been so busy. We’ve been incredibly blessed to have received a great deal of equipment donations. Thank you to (Dave Souders )and (Phil Morales) for your generosity. Mark and (fellow board member - Robbie Hunziker)traveled to Orlando for , made some wonderful connections, met with some of our wonderful sponsors, and helped get our name out there. Mark set up temporary shop this week with the help of fellow board member, (Drake Poiencot). We welcomed (Todd Nugent) to our board. Todd dedicated 30 years in the fire service and is also a Navy Veteran.
We’re currently getting back into the rhythm of rod building, and are preparing for our first local outreach event - Hero Fest in Houma, LA. Stop by, show support, and buy some raffle tickets for the chance to win a fishing rod - made by a veteran! More details to come. Thank you everyone for your support. We hope to begin trips as soon as possible. Your generosity and contributions help us get veterans, first responders and law enforcement officers to learn this amazing craft and get out on the water!

Welcome to our page! We hope you stick around for all that is to come!

Who are we?
We are a new nonprofit, 501(C)3-based out of SE Louisiana, dedicated to supporting our nation’s veterans and first responders by engaging them in the enriching activities of rod building and therapeutic fishing. When done together, these meaningful pursuits not only foster a sense of accomplishment but also promote healing and well-being. Through personalized experiences and shared knowledge, we aim to empower these brave individuals, offering them a chance to reconnect with nature and find solace in the great outdoors.

Our mission statement:
OUR MISSION IS TO HELP VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS BATTLING PTSD FIND PEACE, CAMARADERIE, AND PURPOSE THROUGH HANDS-ON CUSTOM ROD BUILDING AND GUIDED FISHING TRIPS
