The Nicholls Foundation, an independent 501 (c) 3 corporation, exists to support the mission of Nicholls State University by seeking gifts through endowed professorships, scholarships, and other enhancement efforts.

Thanks to a generous $50,000 contribution from the Bayou Industrial Group through the South Central Industrial Association, Bayou Region students have a new opportunity to pursue their education at Nicholls.

The Bayou Industrial Group Legacy Endowed Scholarship will provide $500 per semester to incoming freshmen from Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption and St. Mary parishes, with the opportunity to renew the award for up to eight consecutive semesters.

By investing in local students, SCIA and BIG are helping make higher education more accessible while strengthening the future workforce of the Bayou Region.

We’re grateful for their continued commitment to keeping local talent learning, growing and building their futures right here at home. ❤️

The last full day for the 2026 Nicholls Foundation trip saw many in the group visit Kutna Hora while others ventured on their own in and around Prague. But everyone came together for a tremendous farewell dinner.

That is all for 2026 and plans are already being discussed for 2027.

Full Day #6 had the group enjoy a morning tour of Prague with the afternoon free to explore on their own creating many individual experiences. Another great day.

The group traveled from Vienna to Prague on Day #5 and hit the ground running with a tour of the Old City and large fest where we were also able to celebrate Dr Jay Clune’s birthday and Paul Champagne’s birthday.

For full day #4 of the 2026 Nicholls Foundation trip, many in the group took a day trip to Salzburg. Here is a recap of the day.

Day 2 of the Nicholls Foundation trip saw the group have breakfast, lunch and dinner in 3 different countries as we left Budapest, Hungary in the morning, visited Bratislava, Slovakia for lunchtime and ended in Vienna, Austria for dinner. Another great day!
