FAQ: Does boat e-fishing harm aquatic insects? 🧐

This is a question anglers all over the country ponder, especially as we experience changes in our favorite hatches. In response to local angler concern and curiosity, the Idaho Fish and Game Upper Snake and BYU-Idaho conducted a study on the Henry's Fork and South Fork rivers to dig in and investigate. The results? E-fishing has limited negative impacts on aquatic insects and does not increase mortality or change drift rates. This is great news for Idaho's waterways and fisheries monitoring work.
