🌿 Calling all Rotaractors! 🌿
Join us this Saturday May 24th to Mulch the Tap and Support Community Green Space 🌳

The Woodlands Rotaract is heading to Houston’s Third Ward to team up with our friends at the , , Friends of Columbia Tap, and TSU Community Farm — and we want you with us!

We’re rolling up our sleeves to spread mulch, tend garden beds, and prep the Columbia Tap Trail’s award-winning tree planting site for the summer heat. This is hands-on service that makes a real impact in the community. 🌳🪏

📍 Where: TSU Community Farm, 3216 Blodgett St, Houston, TX 77004
📅 When: Saturday, May 24
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Bring your energy, a reusable water bottle, and a hat — we’ll provide the rest.

We had the honor of learning from our amazing Rotary friend and speaker, Gower Brown! 🙌

He shared the inspiring work behind Peace Poles and The Rotary Club of The Woodlands Time Capsule — a 50-year legacy project that reminds us how small actions today can make a huge impact tomorrow.

These projects don’t just bring people together — they also raise awareness and connect the community to the Rotary mission of peace, service, and lasting change. 🌍🕊️

We’re excited to bring these ideas to life and be part of something truly meaningful!

We had the chance to join Aggie Rotaract and the Texas Ramp Project to build a wheelchair ramp for someone who needed a safe way to get in and out of their home.

The Texas Ramp Project helps people with mobility challenges—like seniors or individuals with disabilities—by building free ramps to improve their independence and safety. It was an amazing experience to support their mission and be part of something that makes a real difference in someone’s life.

🔥 Lone Star PETS 2025 was an unforgettable experience! 🔥

This weekend, we had the privilege to learn from incredible leaders, strengthen our clubs, and connect with fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors from different districts. PETS is more than just a training—it’s where clubs come together, share ideas, and create the foundation for future collaborations!

Our President-Elect, Alex Arevalo, proudly represented our club, getting ready to lead us through another year of impact. We also had the honor of hearing from Rotary International President-Elect Mario César Martins, who shared his vision for our Rotary family.

Events like this remind us that we are part of something bigger. The knowledge, inspiration, and friendships built here will help us continue to grow and serve our communities better than ever before! 💙

🌟 An Unforgettable Evening with Demetress Harrell! 🌟

We had the honor of welcoming Demetress Harrell, Past District Governor and a true inspiration to our Rotaract family. 💙 With over 20 years in Rotary, she has dedicated her life to service, leadership, and making a real impact.

During our meeting, she shared her wisdom on the Rotary Foundation, how to grow as professionals, and what it truly means to be a great leader—inside and outside of Rotary. Her words left us motivated and ready to take action!

This night was also a special moment to recognize and celebrate the dedication of our fellow Rotaractors, Thomas Ciampi and Federico Garrigos, as we officially presented them with their membership certificates. 🎉 Their commitment and passion continue to strengthen our club, and we are grateful to have them as part of this incredible journey.

Thank you, Demetress( ), for your time, passion, and guidance. Your leadership continues to inspire us! 🙌

🌍 Exploring How Rotary Builds Peace – The Past and Future 🌍
How does Rotary approach peacebuilding without political involvement?
What strategies can work during times of war?
How can the 8 Pillars of Peace bring Positive Peace to communities around the world?

These were just some of the thought-provoking topics we discussed with our guest speaker, Michael Hayes, Past District Governor and Rotary Positive Peace Activator. Michael’s presentation shed light on Rotary’s 103-year history of peacebuilding and its incredible partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace.

We’re so grateful for Michael’s time, expertise, and his guidance on how Rotaract can embrace and implement Positive Peace locally and globally. Thank you for inspiring us, and we hope to have you join us again soon!

With an impressive career spanning over 22 years at Chevron, where she managed global teams and billion-dollar budgets in countries such as China and Angola, Staci's dedication to empowering women through Dream Big Ventures is truly inspiring. Her decision to share her experiences and insights with us is greatly appreciated. We eagerly anticipate her continued success and the further inspiration she will undoubtedly provide.
