If you are not familiar with how the Florida Legislature handles environmental issues, there are many action groups that you can follow. The State organization of Florida Native Plant Society makes recommendations about pending legislation. They may also urge you to contact your representative. Check it out on their website:

I'm getting lots of help from the AI at Meta that thinks that native plant enthusiasts want to see reports from basketball teams, folks with stomach problems, politics, you name it. If I miss deleting some of them before you roll in to meet someone showing you how to clean a toilet, I apologize. I'll get this sorted out sooner or later.
