One Small Act of Kindness Changed Their Day ❤️

Today, we took rice to the streets and shared it with people who needed it most.

It may seem like something small, but sometimes a simple act of kindness can bring hope, dignity, and a smile to someone’s day.

This is just the beginning of our journey at Peculiar Obiekwe Charity Foundation — reaching vulnerable people, supporting women and children, and making a difference one person at a time.

I almost walked away from this place without realizing how much this woman was going through. 💔

We met a woman living in a very poor and difficult environment. She has been battling high blood pressure for a long time, and her recent BP reading was 210/165 mmHg.

She used to survive by cooking and selling local food by the roadside. But because of her health, her doctor advised her to stop because the physical stress could worsen her condition and potentially put her at risk of a stroke.

The person helping her survive is her 21-year-old child.

And then we saw where she lives.

Her roof leaks whenever it rains, leaving the room flooded and damaging what little property she has. They don’t even have a proper bed to sleep on. Just recently, after heavy rainfall, a snake found its way into her room through the flooded surroundings and openings in the house.

Imagine being sick, unable to continue the work that feeds you, depending on a 21-year-old child, and still having to sleep in a place where you are not even safe from flooding or snakes.

We gave her what we could that day, but we knew it wasn’t enough.

She needs medical support, better living conditions, and most importantly, a safer and less stressful way to earn a living.

This is why we do what we do—not because we can solve everyone’s problems, but because sometimes, helping one person can give them a reason to keep going.

Our goal is to provide rice to elderly people, vulnerable families, and individuals who are in need within our communities.

For this first phase, we started with one bag of rice, which we carefully packaged into 74 portions of 1kg each.
