Labels. Limits. Expectations.
Too often, individuals with special needs are defined by a diagnosis, a disability, or a label someone else placed on them. But God never intended for people to be reduced to a label.

Jesus looked beyond what others saw. He saw value where others saw limitations, purpose where others saw obstacles, and potential where others saw impossibility.

At Shine On, we believe our participants are not their diagnosis. They are wonderfully made, deeply loved, and created with purpose. The world may put labels on people, but God calls them His masterpiece.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” – Ephesians 2:10

Let’s stop focusing on labels and start seeing people the way Jesus does. ❤️✨

UPDATE: 6/10/26 at 3:00p - Semaj was found just now after someone called in saying that they saw him. He is safe and currently being taken back home.

We need your help locating 35-year-old Semaj Ausborn.

Semaj is a vulnerable adult who is occasionally non-verbal. He left his home on W. 13th Street on foot approximately two hours ago, and despite our efforts, we have not been able to locate him. We are concerned for his safety.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and red athletic shorts.

If you see Semaj or know where he may be, please call 911 immediately. Please share this post to help us get the word out.
