Irene Kadyeski Murray Obituary
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Irene Kadyeski Murray, age 75, Baldwinville, Massachusetts on August 18, 2026.
Born in Gardner Massachusetts in 1951, Irene was the devoted spouse of William (Bill) Murray and loving parent to her three children - Carlene, Nolan, and Eli.
Irene was known by many as a wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend.
As an avid nature lover, she spent much time outdoors, walking, exploring and she especially loved to go kayaking with family and
friends.
As a nurse, she cared for those in need
throughout her life. In her retirement, she continued to work and volunteer in healthcare, most recently at Heywood Hospital. She was
involved at the ARC of North Central Massachusetts and also volunteered on the Council of Aging in Templeton and the Baldwinville Senior Center. She was involved in her community at the Senior Center, Historical Society and Women’s Auxiliary at Baldwinville Legion. She
made an effort to visit those who were unable to get out on their own.
Irene had a love for travel and relished being able to visit family and friends in Holland, Germany, and even Japan. Wilson Bus tours were often on her things to do list - where she would take her
beloved son Eli to experience the world outside of our region.
Music and art played an important part in her life, especially singing with her
church and choirs throughout the region. She had just taken up the violin as her newest instrument.
Irene lived a life full of purpose and joy. Her devout belief in God was core to everything she did. Her volunteer work extended to helping in
her worship groups.
She was devoted to her family and her happiest moments were when her family and extended family and friends were together making memories.
Irene leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband Bill Murray, daughter Carlene Murray and her three children, son Nolan Murray and
his wife Candace, her sidekick and son, Eli Murray and her sister and best friend, Sally Keiran. She also leaves many cousins and in-laws who
will miss her deeply.
We will miss her more than words can say. May she rest in peace alongside loved ones who have predeceased her.
Irene graduated from Gardner High School, Class of 1969. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Worcester State College, as well as her teaching certification. She became a Registered Nurse in the Mt Wachusett Community College Nursing Program, and continued to educate herself throughout her life. She also taught at the Nature Training School in Paxton, MA.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held on September 2, 2026 at 6:00
pm at Bethany Baptist Church in Gardner, MA. All who knew and loved Irene are invited to attend and share their favorite memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Templeton Senior Community Center in Baldwinville, MA in Irene Murray's name.
