Incorporate, Differentiate, and Inspire: Small Group Instruction in the Math Classroom
Description: A deep dive into the logistics and pedagogy of running highly effective small groups. This session focuses on how to design meaningful rotations, manage the rest of the classroom independently, and target instruction to meet every student’s needs.
Dr. Alysha Ryder-Madanat has been in education for the last 20 years teaching elementary math, mentoring first and second year teachers and being a math coach for a local school district. Since moving over to ASU, Dr. Alysha has been teaching in the ASU Teaching Fellows Program for Paraeducators. She received her Doctorate Degree focusing on Formative Assessment and Small Group Instruction. Dr. Alysha wants to help future teachers be the best teachers they can be in their careers. Her additional interests involve student engagement strategies in the classroom and how to use data to drive instruction.
