For Our City Tempe

Thank you Maricopa County Emergency Management for an informative discussion with members of For Our City Tempe. We learned about the program, Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) that was a great resource to our community during last year’s microburst, and a new opportunity to be involved with in case of emergency.

For Our City Tempe is a community-led collaborative focused on making a difference in the lives of Tempe residents. It’s open to all residents, faith, business and nonprofit organizations.

Remember to bring large backpacks and/or school supplies to the For Our City Tempe breakfast for students in the three Tempe public school districts. We are having a drive and passing on the supplies for back to school.

Many thanks to for their extreme generosity. They donated 150 backpacks filled with supplies! I dropped off 50 of them yesterday to the . The rest will go to Tempe Elementary students and to locations for Tempe Union High School students. All our districts have many students in need.

If you are not attending the breakfast but want to donate supplies for this drive, please let us know!
