Jumpstart the Heart Initiative Tekamah Provide CPR training and place AEDs at different locations in Tekamah in order to save lives. American Red Cross certified for First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.

Thank you to the Tekamah Fire and Rescue Department for the generous donation. They passed a hat among the members and donated to the Jumpstart the Heart Initiative Tekamah. They freely give their time to the community responding to calls for service and also their own money for an AED. Thank you.

In 2008 the 110th Congress of the United States declared October to be National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness month in an effort to educate the public about warning signs, risk factors and what to do in a cardiac emergency.

Chances of survival are better with quick access to an AED and CPR (done to the beat of the song Staying Alive by the Bee Gees)

Today is world restart a heart day.
There are approximately 350,000 outside of a hospital cardiac arrests a year in the United States of America. Learn CPR and help me place AEDs in locations around tekamah and Burt county.

Heart attack is when a person has a blockage in a vein. The heart is still beating and the person is conscious a lot of the time. Sudden cardiac arrest or also referred to as sudden cardiac death is when the heart quits beating because of an electrical issue with the heart, the person has no heart beat, is not breathing and is unconscious.
An AED along with CPR are required to save someone from sudden cardiac arrest.
Tekamah community foundations week of giving ends on August 14 and they are matching donations. Please consider a donation. ALL proceeds go to AEDs and associated equipment such as wall mounts and quick response bag that contains among other items a mask for giving respirations.
