Thank you Marcus Holdridge for your great program this morning on your new business venture: Marcus’s Doggie Delights. 🐾

Marcus is the 9 yr old son of member Matthew Holdridge and has been a frequent guest at our meetings over the years. We’re so excited for him and wish him great success!

Marcus will be selling his dog treats at the Market on Evans every other Saturday, and when he isn’t there, you can find him at the Manchester Farmer’s Market. You can also follow him on Facebook @ Marcus’s Doggie Delights.

Congratulations to Mike Morast, our May Member-of-the-Month! Mike brings joy to every meeting and helps get the space set up before every meeting. Thank you, Mike! πŸ†

πŸ’™ Happy Father’s Day! πŸ’™

We celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, coaches, and father figures who help children grow with confidence, courage, and love.

Whether teaching life lessons, offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply being present, these caring role models make a lasting difference in the lives of young people every day.

At Kiwanis, we know that strong families and supportive adults help children thrive. We are grateful for all those who invest their time, wisdom, and hearts in the next generation.

πŸ‘” To all the dads and father figures who inspire, guide, and support childrenβ€”thank you for all you do.

Happy Father’s Day!

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth β€” a day that honors freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of opportunity for all.

As Kiwanians, we believe one of the most meaningful ways to honor the past is to invest in the future. Through service, education, and caring communities, we help empower the next generation to learn, grow, and thrive.

May we continue to learn from our history, celebrate our heritage, and build brighter futures together.

The annual C.S. Mott Hospital Shower took place this morning during our regular meeting. Child Life Specialists from the surgical ward, Michelle Kearn & Jasmine Ybarra, were on hand to accept our donations and give a little background history on the Child Life Services Program. The Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor provided funds to originally get this program off the ground, and every years Kiwanians all over Michigan donate funds through their dues to keep it going.

The success of this event could not be possible without the club’s Young Children Priority One Committee, who purchases many of the toys, games, and arts & crafts gifted to the program. Members also bring in items to donate.

‼️A very special shout out to the Tecumseh Middle School Builders Club!! ‼️ These students worked hard all year to raise funds for this event and then purchased the toys & games themselves. We also have to give thanks to local business Hopscotch Kids - they were incredibly generous in helping students pick out items, made a donation themselves, and gave a discount on the purchase. We are truly fortunate to have such wonderful community partners ❀️

Today our program is one of our clubs favorites. Our Mott's Shower!! The Child and Family Life Services Department at C. S. Mott's Children's Hospital will be talking about how their department, which is funded by donations, supports children who are hospitalized for long stays. The Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh has supported this program for over 50 years!! More pictures will follow after the program this morning.

Lots of LOVE goes into every quilt.

This is Deb. She is an RN in the Special Care Nursery at Henry Ford Allegiance in Jackson. As you can see, she is gathering and organizing our quilts for delivery to the wonderful families they serve.

I talk a great deal about the love that is stitched into every quilt we make. Have you given any thought to the number of people who put hands on every single quilt, including the supplies to make them? I believe each person who is involved in the making of these quilts adds their love and good wishes to it.

The people who donate the fabric, sort it by category, cut the kits, cut the batting, make the quilts, sort the quilts into groups for distribution to each hospital, launder the quilts, package them for delivery, shelve them at the hospital and deliver them to the families.

I am grateful beyond words for each of you. It is a privilege and honor to be part of an amazing, generous and loving group such as this.

Thank you.

Major Patrick McAran, grandson of longtime member and former Club President Mike McAran, visited the club this morning to discuss both his experiences as an active duty soldier and as a member of the US Army Signal Corps.
Truly an inspiring and informative program!

We thank him for taking the time to speak with us, for his service to this nation, and wish him well at his next posting.

Next week the Club will host its annual C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Shower. πŸŽ‰ A big shout out to the TMS Builders Club who worked very hard this year to raise over $1700 for this wonderful cause. πŸŽ‰

Meet our Member of the Month: Mary Tommelein

Mary has been a part of our club for the past ✨12 years✨!

She helps with many of our club fundraisers like the flag program, is our on scholarship committee, and was one of our Co-Chairs of our community Bingo night we had this spring! Bingo is a wonderful way to combine financial and community support to not only the Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh but to the Tecumseh Service Club also.

She truly loves working with the 100+ students in our Tecumseh Builders Club! Builders Club helps foster a love for volunteering in our local middle school students! As one of the Builders Club Kiwanis member advisors, Mary helps students learn valuable leadership skills that they will take with them in their next phase of life!

Thank you Mary for all you do to supporting the Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh!
