In September 2011, my life changed forever. I became the mommy of a beautiful baby girl named Brooklynn. When she was just 10 hours old, we found out that she had a congenital heart defect and would require open heart surgery. Over the next few weeks, we also found out that she had an EXTREMELY rare chromosome deletion, lung disease, auto-immune disease, and her kidneys weren't working as well as
they needed to be. Our sweet baby Brooklynn passed away at just 32 days old. It has been the hardest thing I have ever been through in my whole life. I have found that it is easier to cope with the reality that she is no longer here with us by donating my time and talent to help other families in similar situations. Brooklynn was known in her wing for her fabulous bows. I made several different ones while we were at the hospital and changed them each day. I felt like that helped keep my sanity and helped to look past all of the wires and tubes and see the beautiful baby under it all. Since she was known for her bows, I decided that it would be great to continue to make them in memory of her and donate all of the profits to a children's charity or organization. I also have been making bows to send back to the hospital wing where we stayed for that month. Hopefully, someone's day will be brightened by recieving a bow to their beautiful baby girl.
