Oliver Twist got adopted!!!!! So proud of this guy. He got 2nd in Basic Skills, 3rd in obstacles, and if it wasn’t for a stubborn handler he would’ve done better than 6th in freestyle!! Those are the breaks though and his handler learned a very valuable lesson.

He also got first in stall decoration for being people’s choice!!

When we drove back the empty trailer and went to feed our other horses, my heart hurt not seeing his happy face. He always nickered excitement when we showed up and his fence mate, Mayo realized his buddies weren’t coming back, it was heart breaking all over again.

But Oliver is in a great home who will love him forever. We love and miss you! We wish you all the happiness.

Oliver and Gabby did their best today at the Capital AQHA, but it just wasn't their day. Oliver was a bit overwhelmed and if anything good came out of the day for this team, it was to learn what Oliver was comfortable with and to help him deal with what he wasn't comfortable with. Oliver, although has been around big horses on our farm, did not like many big horses around him being ridden while being told to do stuff. He was fine watching them, not so fine working the obstacles with them next to him. This sudden behavior change did impact their overall performance. Gabby was tentative and Oliver was on alert. It was great exposure but not every performance can be a winning one! Especially, when you are competing against adults with very expensive, very well trained horses that are only in the in-hand division at the very last second to chase points for the overall point winner. Is this fair? No, absolutely not, but it is the world of horse competitions.

Another Day of practice for the event on Sunday. Oliver connected better but he was really interested in grass today. Gabby had to take a break and refocus but in the end, they definitely improved. She was working some of the course in liberty.

If you listen closely at the end you can hear Gabby shouting "Good Boy" She was so proud of him as she had to work hard to get him to do this! Proud of Gabby!

A little sticky but Gabby is getting there!

They are working to clean this up, but it is coming along!
