Hello! I am Gabby Davis. I'm 9-yrs-old. I've been doing the training challenge for four years now! I love horses. I like to ride and often times will disappear, tack up my pony, Mayo, and ride him by myself. I'm pretty good at figuring out horses, although I get frustrated sometimes when they give me a hard time because I'm small. Oliver is just the right size for me and I looked forward to really getting to know him. Oliver has been enjoying the easy life until we figured out his preferences, food, and routine. Hello! My name is Oliver Twist. I'm an older feller, but a super sweet one. I'm so chill that I fall asleep when I am getting my feet trimmed. I'm easy to catch, easy to lead, and I will do most things you ask me to do, even if I've never done it before. I do have Cushings and require a pill and because of Cushings, I have laminitis, which is managed by diet! I'm on an alfalfa only diet and I really like it. I don't like treats or anything sweet. The vet says I am sound and I should be okay with riding, as long as my diet is managed. Because I'm so chill, I am pretty low in the herd standings, which makes me okay with almost all horses.

If you have questions about this horse or about how adoption works, please contact our Adoption Counselor at [email protected]. She’ll be happy to walk you through how adoption works, get info about the horse(s) you are interested in, etc.

If you are an approved adopter who is interested in adopting this horse, please contact our Adoption Coordinator at [email protected]. The horse won’t be available for adoption until the Challenge on October 3.

The Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge will be held on October 3, 2026 during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, Texas. All Challenge horses will be available for adoption from Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society that day, unless their trainer adopts them.

We may also have other horses available for adoption who are not in the Challenge. We will have volunteers who can show those horses to you, and if you adopt a non-Challenge horse you can take him/her home once you have signed the contract and paid the fee.
