𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐒𝐃

Mama Duck is grateful to share that we have officially cleared the student lunch debt for all six campuses in Taylor ISD, a total of $686.35 this holiday season.

This incredible gift was made possible thanks to the generosity of Gemini and Dell employees. Both companies offer programs that allow employees to make directed donations to a nonprofit of their choice. Several Gemini employees and one Dell employee chose Mama Duck, and because of them, we were able to reset every campus account and help lift a little financial burden from TISD families during the holidays. Thank you for choosing to support local students in such a meaningful way.

This mission is close to our hearts. We were first inspired by Isabella Tebeau and Tim Mikeska, whose work in clearing lunch debt showed us what community action can do. Their encouragement helped Mama Duck take on this effort for the first time in spring 2023, when we sat on the front lawn of Old Taylor High and simply asked our neighbors for help. In just 24 hours, more than 100 people contributed and raised $1,210.22.

Since then, we have committed to clearing the lunch debt every holiday season:

• November 2023: Our community came together again to meet a goal of $908.59.
• November 2024: Directed donations from Gemini employees covered $802.11 before we even had to ask.

Time and time again, Taylor has shown its heart. This community consistently steps up to support educational equity and ensure every student is cared for. Taylor, Texas is full of generous, compassionate people who lift others up without hesitation.

From all of us at Mama Duck, thank you for helping us make sure every student has what they need to thrive.

We’re Mama Duck, a Taylor-based nonprofit founded in 2023 by three local moms who saw too many students missing out on school activities because of financial barriers. Our mission is simple: make sure every student in Taylor ISD has equal access to educational opportunities — from field trips to school events to classroom materials.

Named in honor of beloved educator Naomi “Mama Duck” Pasemann, we carry forward her legacy of nurturing and supporting students. 💛
