I received this from my Director of West Coast Operations, Randy Bennet, and this is a grea example to how God is using this ministry to change lives! We are so greatful to God to see His hands at work!!
Our God, is an Awesome God!
I just received a message from someone letting me know how gracious God is... Ya see, I used to work with the homeless in and around Hudson/Spring Hill, FL. And there was this one lady that was addicted to opiates while her boyfriend was addicted to m**h. They lived in the woods in a very tough camp (boyfriend's friend just recently stabbed and killed someone in that very camp). Anyway, with a little help and a loving God, she decided to make some changes and moved to MO. She got off pills, got a real job and rented a place of her own. Today, out of the clear blue, she messaged me to say she has now cleared all legal issues from FL, she now has a car and is so happy with her life. She is proud and just wanted to share with someone who saw her at her worst.
This lady in her mid 30s, has no family, mom & dad deceased... Mom was an addict, Dad was A***n Brotherhood. No where to live, homeless and addicted... But God showed up...
I say all of this merely to say the efforts you make today may pay huge dividends in someone's life. My Dad used to say, "Don't ever take someone's hope away... That may be all they have."
The choices we make and the struggles we face are real with sometimes lasting consequences. As we head into what can be a difficult time for many, I want to encourage us all to let others know God is Hope.
I continue to pray for friends I have. One serving a 20 yr sentence, another arrested for possession last week, and for a friend who received a one year pin that has also changed his life over the past year...
I want to offer encouragement to whatever addiction you may face... From pleasing others with codependency to an addiction to a needle and a spoon, God is THE ANSWER. Additionally , I want to ask that each of you keep ME in your prayers as all of us are only one step away from a life changing mistake.
I am so very thankful for a merciful and gracious God that gives us so much more than we deserve... I am proof!!!tk
