We just love this time of year! Tatum Lions Club brought smiles and pecan pies to others yesterday. Do you enjoy serving others and your community? We would love to have you visit one of our monthly meetings and consider joining us. We meet the 3rd Monday of each month at Bodacious in Tatum at 6:30.

The Lion’s Club enjoyed being a part of the Tatum Christmas Parade !

A super huge THANK YOU to Lions Lupe and Lisa Rivera for getting the float ready by adding decorations and lights, pulling it, and even bringing candy for those of us who forgot. Thanks to Mary Rios, Curt Smith, Kim Permenter, Chad Swanson and Mark Dickerson for riding along with us and to Gay Towell for making sure we had plenty of candy to throw along the parade route !

Lion’s club members were surprised tonight with a Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt. Active members were encouraged to raid non active members pantries. It was a lot of fun for a worthy cause. Lions Lisa, Lupe, Curt, Gay and Debbie all participated. What a fun night, thank you Lion Lisa for the great idea !

The Tatum Lion’s Club met last night with guest Speaker Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez to update us on the Hard Work and Progress the Rusk County Sheriff's Office has made over the past few years under his direction! Thank You Sir for your hard work as well as the work of all of your Department!

We are getting our “Bash the Bears” event started ! Come on out to take a swing for $2.00 each! Two of our Tatum Eagles #1 and #9 have gotten already gotten a couple of swings in already. All proceeds benefit our scholarship program !

Congratulations to our very own Debbie Jones!

This week we are proud to spotlight our Tatum Branch Manager, Debbie Jones. Debbie is a Vice President and Loan Officer with Texas Bank. Debbie has been in banking for 21 years, and we’re excited that all 21 of those years have been right here at Texas Bank!

Debbie has been married to her husband, Cody, for 34 years. Together, they have two children and four grandchildren. When she isn’t in the kitchen cooking up her famous chicken salad or banana pudding, you can probably find her serving as a Director on the Tatum Education Foundation or serving as an Officer on the Tatum Ladies Lion Club. A little known fact about Debbie is that she shares her birthday with someone very close to her; her brother. We guess that means she is a TWIN!!!!

Debbie’s commitment to the people of Tatum make her a perfect example of what makes a true community banker. In fact, she tells us that the most rewarding part of her job is “having the opportunity to help the customers within a small community and having the best co-workers and positive work relationships”.
