Be Thankful! Let us tell you about Kisii. a municipality and urban center in south-western Kenya. Mara and Eva are 6th graders living in that village who have to walk miles each day to obtain water for her family. The water is filthy and full of waterborne diseases but the people in their village have had no other option. However their story has been far worse than that.

"Thank you to all the donors for the success of the well," explained a young girl named Eva (see her picture below). "Now we are going to have clean water, and so many of our community girls will be able to continue their studies. Before the well was done, some many of our girls had to walk many long kilometers each day. We suffer carnage along the way." Carnage is their word for rape.

Mara told us through tears, "I have no words to express how grateful we are for the donors for the well. The girls walk long distances to fetch water and they get raped on the way. We can now concentrate on our studies like the boys. Thank you so much."
